Two renowned newspapers have joined forces in promoting the wine event, Rio Vinhos Portugal, which goal is to put Portuguese wine at center stage in Brazil’s markets. The Portuguese communications giant, Público, has team up with another giant from across the seas, the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, to put together this event at Palácio São Clemente, where up to 50 Portuguese producers are going to be present.

Rio Vinhos Portugal is going to take place between 23 and 25 of May and has the ambitious goal of attracting 5 thousand consumers and wine professionals. Portuguese wines hold a market share of 12.5% in the Brazilian market, taking up the 4th position amongst the major wine producers like China, Argentina and France. On the other hand, in 2013, over 29% of the wine traded was Portuguese.

Portugal is going to discover Brazil all over again. The event wants to show off the modern Portuguese wine market and increase its visibility overseas. The deadline for signing up for Rio Vinhos Portugal is March 14,  you can do it on ViniPortugal.
